Our Story

How it all started...

Base Church is part of the Acts Global Churches movement, which finds it's roots in the  Welsh Revival of 1905.

Those in Wales wrote to friends and family around the globe, telling them of what God was doing. Two families in Adelaide received such letters and began to pray together, asking God to move in Adelaide too. At their request, William Cathcart & John Hewitt came to Adelaide in the 1930's.  They booked the Adelaide Town Hall and it was filled to overflowing.  Countless salvations, healings and baptisms took place. Churches were planted across the nation and the Acts Global Churches movement was born, then called Apostolic Church Australia.

And today . . .

Our founding pastors came to Adelaide in 1998 to a handful of believers that were praying for a pastor.

We have grown into a community that continues to produce  faith and obedience to the Holy Scriptures.

Our local impact is seen best in Bethany Christian School. A primary school, of 600+ students, birthed through Base Church, which educates for eternity, making disciples to Jesus.

Our global impact is seen at Hope Village - a home for children orphaned or abandoned - located in Sumatra, Indonesia. It has grown from a children's home to Christian school of 800+ students from kindergarten to Year 12, and a church.

We continue to follow Jesus together, and in that same pioneering spirit, aim to  show others how to do the same.

Followers of Jesus follow Jesus.
Let's follow Jesus together!

come and see what god is doing
